Brecon (Ty'n - y - Caeau) Youth Hostel Groesffordd, Brecon, Powys LD3 7SWTel: (+44) 01874 665270   Fax: (+44) 01874 66527 Near the historic town of Brecon not so convenient as some of the other hostels for high level walking but a number of low level walks in the vicinity. A good hostel from which to visit the splendid and unique Llangorse Lake.

Capel-Y-Ffin Youth Hostel Capel-y-Ffin, Abergavenny, NP7 7NP Tel: (+44) 01873 890650 Located in the remote and stunningly beautiful Llanthony Valley in the Vale of Ewyas. Excellent walking opportunities with a series of fine ridges both sides of this valley. Horse and trail riding holidays are available from this hostel (see below). Local attractions include Hay on Wye  (a full days walk away) and Llanthony Priory.

Llanddeusant Youth Hostel The Old Red Lion, Llanddeusant, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire SA19 6UL  
A onetime public house located in the Wild West of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The ridges of the Carmarthen Fans that are within (strenuous) walking reach of this hostel are amongst the finest in the National Park. At certain times of the year this hostel maybe booked out to groups - check before travelling here or refer to the hostel guide.

Llwyn Y Celyn Youth Hostel Libanus, Brecon, Powys LD3 8NH Tel: (+44) 01874 624261 Fax: (+44) 01874 624261 Located in a valley in the centre of the Brecon Beacons Massif virtually beneath Pen Y Fan the highest mountain in South Wales. Just off the main road between Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon (public transport) four to five miles north of Brecon. Excellent walking opportunities and the Brecon Beacons Visitor centre is within easy reach.

    Cardiff is a particularly useful hostel for the International visitor making their way to the Brecon Beacons. Train and bus connections from London as well as the close proximity of Cardiff Wales  International Airport make this a likely starting point. Train and bus connections lead on from here to Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon (bus only).

    The hostel is near to Roath Park which is well worth the short stroll. It contains a monument (reminiscent of a lighthouse) to Scott of the Antarctic. Cardiff Outdoor Group (a YHA local Group). Ty’r Morwydd House is the subsidiary of Ty’r Morwydd Environmental Study Centre, an environmental education charity. We are within easy reach of the Black Mountains, The Offa’s Dyke Path, the Brecon Beacons., and many tourist attractions. A Wales Tourist Board 3 Star Hostel, we can accommodate groups of up to 72.  Ramblers, cyclists, activity groups, religious, craft and other small conferences catered for. Good food is plentiful, and accommodation is in comfortable single and twin bedrooms, mostly with H&C.
