offer courses to schools in field studies and adventurous activities,
and are open for use by other groups or individuals at weekends and
during school holidays.

The Centre is situated in beautiful countryside on the border between
England and Wales near the small market town of Hay-on-Wye. With Trewern as your base you can strike
out in almost any direction and find something to interest you, whether
you are a casual visitor or serious student.

All our programmes are prepared in consultation with visiting
groups, and are carefully tailored to meet their needs.

We have more than thirty years experience in running courses at all
levels from introductory to advanced. All the instructional staff are
qualified teachers and hold a range of nationally recognised
qualifications in outdoor activities.

Whether you want to walk or climb in the mountains of the Brecon Beacons
National Park, canoe on placid or exciting white waters, enjoy a
pleasant walk along unspoiled river banks, or simply visit some of the
twenty or more bookshops in Hay-on-Wye, Trewern is the ideal place to
stay.

Activity Centre offers superior hostel accommodation, gourmet food,
outdoor education, field study courses and adventure training.
We are located on the flanks of Table Mountain in the Black Mountains
National Park. Our guests include cyclists, cavers, training groups,
educational groups, families, and social groups.
Glyncornel
Environmental Centre offers excellent hostel style
accommodation for 58 with teaching facilities as well as housing a small
museum. Colleges, schools and community groups are all welcome. Rhondda
Heritage Park, Parc and Dare Cinema, and Rhondda Leisure Centre are also
nearby. The Welsh capital of Cardiff, the Gower peninsula and the Brecon
Beacons National Park are within an hour's drive. Glyncornel has site
based teaching staff and programmes of study can be tailored to meet the
needs of the individual groups.

Morwydd Enviormental Study Centre: (The House of the Mulberries) provides residential
and day courses in geography, ecology and earth science fieldwork for
all ages from KS 2 to A2 and undergraduate. Locations used range from
the Brecon Beacons to the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and from Breconshire
villages to Cardiff Bay. Wales Tourist Board 3 Star Hostel. Good Food.
Accommodation in single and twin study bedrooms. Excellent field
equipment, academic library, map collection and ICT facilities
(including internet access).

Coleg Trefeca is the historic home of Howell Harris (1714 - 1773),
prominent leader of the Methodist revival in Wales. It is set in 5 acres
of land in the heart of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National
Park. Today Coleg Trefeca is an ideal centre for retreat and
relaxation. A variety of courses and events are offered, and the centre
is also available for groups to book for private meetings or
conferences.
