General Information:

There are a number of Golf courses in the vicinity of the National Park where non members are usually made welcome - though it is always polite and expedient to enquire well in advance and not just turn up on the day.

Golf Courses:

  • Aberdare Golf Club Golf Rd Abernant Aberdare Mid Glamorgan CF44 0RY Tel: 01685 878735. Extensive views of the Cynon Valley, located quite high on valley sides, 18-holes, clubhouse, Park land features, handicap certificate required, visitors welcome.
  • Glynhir Golf Club, Glynhir Road, Llandybie, Ammanford, SA18 2EH. Telephone 01269 850472 18 Hole Golf Course wooded with Park land features, located in western locality of national park between Ammanford and Llandybie. visitors welcome weekdays, definitely not on Sundays.
  • Brecon Golf Club, Newton Park, Brecon, LD3 8PA Telephone 01874 622004. flat 9 hole course located close to town centre, visitors welcome possible restrictions on Sundays, clubhouse.
  • Builth Wells Golf Club Golf Club Rd Builth Wells Powys LD 2 3NF Tel: 01982 553296 eighteen holes, somewhat flat with parkland features, attractive golf club, visitors welcome, handicapped certificate required.
  • Merthyr Tydfil (Cilsanws) Golf Club, Off A470 Merthyr Tydfil to Brecon Road.  Cloth Hall Lane, Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 2NU Telephone 01685 723308. A mountain course with fairways at 1000 feet or more above sea level.  The only course actually situated within the national park itself.  Exposed with extensive panoramic views. visitors welcome any time except when competitions are being held check with club for details.
  • Cradoc Golf Club Penoyre Park Brecon Powys LD 3 8PA Tel: 01874 623658.  Exceptional course with 18 holes, parkland features with panoramic views, clubhouse, visitors welcome with restrictions on Sundays, floodlit driving range, golf course design reputation for good environmental practice.
  • Old Rectory Hotel and Golf Club,  54.Llangattock, Crickhowell, NP8 1PH Telephone 01873 810373. excellent views from 9 hole golf course, visitors welcome at all times, accommodation available at associated hotel with excellent reputation.
  • Monmouthshire Golf Club Llanfoist Abergavenny Gwent NP7 9HE Tel: 0187and3 852606. 18-hole golf course, parkland features with mountain views, practice area, visitors welcome proof of recognised golf club membership required, clubhouse.
  • The Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club, B4233 old Monmouth/ Abergavenny road.  The Hendre,  Monmouth, NP25 5HG Telephone 01600 715353 Fax 01600 713115.  Eighteen hole course, visitors welcomed any day, located between Monmouth and Abergavenny on old road B4233, wooded course with parkland features on private estate.
  • Morlais Castle Golf Club Pant Merthyr Tydfil Mid Glamorgan CF48 2UY Tel: 01685 722822. large modern clubhouse with car parking. visitors welcome by prior arrangement only, 18 holes, easy access from heads of the valleys road a 465, panoramic views of Brecon Beacons and Merthyr Valley, remains of Norman Castle adjacent to course, Brecon Mountain Railway nearby.
  • Pontardawe Golf Club The Cefn Llan Rd Pontardawe Swansea West Glamorgan SA 8 4SH   Tel: 01792 863118.  Eighteen hole golf course, clubhouse, visitors must contact club to make prior arrangements, weekends excluded.
  • Woodlake Park Golf and Country Club,  Glascoed, Pontypool, NP4 0TE

    Fax 01291 673811.  Located between Pontypool and Usk with views of the Llandegfedd reservoir, parkland features, 18 holes, visitors welcome, clubhouse.
