• To camp anywhere in the Brecon Beacons National Park requires the permission of the landowner - this includes areas of open land  
• special bylaws prohibit camping on National Trust land 
• farmers and other landowners may give permission to camp on enclosed land for which there maybe a fee 
• there are a number of camping sites that may appeal to the "wild country camper" and a leaflet listing them is available from National Park Information Centres.

Acorn Holidays have at Tan Troed their own 17-acre campsite, set only one mile away from Llangorse Lake. Sailing, kayaking, canoeing and raft building - The watersports are complemented by the wide range of dry land activities including a high ropes course, two climbing and abseil towers, three sheltered archery ranges, and two challenge courses. There is also an indoor area ideal for discos, talent evenings and other evening activities.

Llanddeusant Youth Hostel The Old Red Lion, Llanddeusant, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire SA19 6UL  
A onetime public house located in the Wild West of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The ridges of the Carmarthen Fans that are within (strenuous) walking reach of this hostel are amongst the finest in the National Park. At certain times of the year this hostel maybe booked out to groups - check before travelling here or refer to the hostel guide.

Capel-Y-Ffin Youth Hostel Capel-Y-Ffin, Abergavenny, NP7 7NP Tel: (+44) 01873 890650 Located in the remote and stunningly beautiful Llanthony Valley in the Vale of Ewyas. Excellent walking opportunities with a series of fine ridges both sides of this valley. Horse and trail riding holidays are available from this hostel (see below). Local attractions include Hay on Wye  (a full days walk away) and Llanthony Priory.

A small user friendly campsite with a new WC/washroom, washing-up/catering room and outdoor eating/socialising area. Ample parking and secure storage available. As committed walkers, mountain bikers and cavers ourselves we are able to give detailed advice on the area and can offer drop off or pick up facilities. Well behaved dogs are welcome and campfires/partying encouraged.
